Owner’s Story:
I purchased this Maple Leaf 48 with a vision to explore the beautiful islands around Phuket, having spent years cruising on other boats in the area. During COVID, the boat became available as the previous owners retired and could not return. My plan was to share this adventure with a colleague, but with him stepping back and my return to full-time work in Singapore, I couldn’t complete the project as intended. I did, however, successfully sail her 1,400 miles back to Phuket.

Forward cabin has a double plus 2 bunks, could be curtained off, has one bathroom, also has the workbench. Pilot berth in the aft passage. Aft cabin has a double plus en-suite bathroom. Saloon has sofas that could be slept on and the dining area could easily be converted to a double. Wheelhouse has a convertible large single when not sailing. The owner’s cabin is of a good size, featuring a seat with a dressing table and a door that leads to the small aft cockpit, complete with cushions.

Engine runs fine, lots of power, unsure if original engine, spec says 90hp so upgrade on that. I just rebuilt the gearbox with new oil seals, gaskets etc. The main fuel tank is out of commision but there are 2 GRP underfloor tanks with about 250 litres each plus a 70 litre steel tank that I refurbished and painted in 2022. Autopilot motor refurbished in Sarawak en route to Phuket. New Raymarine head unit. Hydraulic steering.

Has additional, running backstays for spinnaker/asymmmetric flying. Furling Staysail - sail needs repair, split a couple of feet from the foot along its length.

No tender currently, but does have a 3.3hp outboard. Has a good folding prop, 2 spare fix props. Multiple anchors and miles of rope. Cupboards full of miscellaneous parts. Teak swim swim ladder was badly damaged due to the old tender dropping off the davits recently, can be repaired with new teak, I will try to get it done soon, plus buy a new tender.
