Description

This magnificent trawler was built by naval architects in Seahorse Marine and was designed by George Beuhler, a steel boat with 350 hours engine time, located in Philippines.

OVERVIEW

The Diesel Duck 462 Sedan was designed by George Buehler for Seahorse Marine Manufacturer, and built in Zuhai, China for Key Ocean Limited.

The Diesel Duck concept was inspired by the salmon trollers that traditionally worked the West Coast of the United States from Central California, up to Oregon and Washington.

Trollers are designed to be operated by only one or two crew, to move through the water easily while using minimal fuel and thus capable to operate for days at a time even in bad weather.

The contract was for the yard to build a “base vessel” with the owner to supply all parts / components / accessories / materials relating to the mechanical / electrical / electronic systems and all materials or extra items that differed from the builder’s standard specifications.

Construction of the vessel started in late 2009.

The owner supplied equipment was to a very high specification and has added a lot of cost and value to the vessel.

In January 2017 the vessel was delivered to the owner partially completed and she was taken to Hong Kong.

The vessel has been completed over twelve months under the supervision of the owner using suitably qualified and experienced contractors.
