Description

"Tubby" has a sister ship, the 2 Hulls were originally built in Singapore and designed by Patrick Bray. The concept was to build a passage maker that was globally capable but with a comfortable interior and the key design concept was to keep it simple!  we have very little outside stainless steel and no wood - all exterior surfaces are painted so makes maintenance very simple.  The original preparation of the steel was immaculate and therefore have had no rust over the years.  Both hulls went into the water in 2011 and are both still based at One15 Marina, Singapore.

Works Done

The original intention of both boats was to have 2 diesel generators (steyr engines) feeding Siemens electrical systems.  The commissioning of this set up was extremely expensive and had not been done before in a pleasure boat at this time, I therefore decided in 2014 to switch to a traditional approach and bought a new steyr engine as main (ZF gearbox and single prop) and used one of the original Steyr engines as the hydraulic engine; I also added an Onan 21kw genset at the same time.

All engines have been recently serviced by Steyr and have less than 100 hours. We have two 1000 ltr day tanks and approx 2 3000 litre side tanks.  We also have two 1000 ltr fresh water tanks.  I have upgraded the battery system to Victron charger/inverter in 2019 with Trojan house batteries.  The hull has coppercoat which was done in 2016 and I have the hull cleaned on a monthly basis and can supply a report.  My hydraulic system is SidePower feeding steering, winch, stern and bow thrusters and active stabilisers (which as yet I have not commissioned).  I have replaced the navigation system in 2021 with the latest raymarine AXIOM including autopilot.  Tubby has domestic aircons which are regularly maintained - the engine room is very spacious (in the centre of the boat) and also has aircon!  We have a Helm/study in the top which leaves for a very spacious galley forward and the saloon aft.  The main bedroom with ensuite is aft (sharing stairs into engine room).   Forward we have 2 double rooms and 1 bunk room which all share a bathroom.
